The Town Hall

            The 16th century Renaissance style town hall is first mentioned in 1593, being a council house at the time. Its Renaissance roots are finely demonstrated by the cross comb vault used to support the ground floor ceiling. The back section of the town hall was connected to the town brewery, which was made into a pub after a fire in the early 20th century and later into a cheese dairy. In 1749 the town hall was renovated to its current Baroque style. The wooden ceilings and clock tower were added about a hundred years later. The facade is decorated with symbols of the town and the Buquoy family.

            The ground floor of the town hall currently houses a cultural and information centre, and a restaurant has been opened in the cellar and inner courtyard.
